Hymn Festival honors Paul Manz
- (November 6, 2009) The life and work of Paul Manz is being honored this weekend with a special musical celebration
sponsored by the LSTC. The celebration will
culminate in a hymn festival of the sort Manz himself made popular among American Protestants.
Planned to mark the maestro's 90th year, this musical fireworks display at St. Luke's Church, 1500 W Belmont AV, in Chicago,
will coincide with his Minnesota funeral. More >>
Manz leaves a priceless legacy
-
(October 29, 2009) Paul Manz. If ever there was a man for his time, he was it. It's hard to think of church music over the last 50 years without
his contributions. His inspiring hymn festivals -- with his thrilling organ improvisations, his inventive compositions, his beautiful and practical choral music --
manifestly enriched not only the Lutheran Church, but really all of American Christianity. -TW
